Identity Verification: When It Comes to Gartner, Believe the Hype

In an exciting announcement entering the second semester of the year, Incode has been recognized in Gartner, Inc.’s 2023 Hype Cycle for Digital Identity.

Each year, Gartner Hype Cycles help clients across various domains track the maturity and future potential of innovations.

The Hype Cycle for Digital Identity, 2023, emphasizes innovations that facilitate secure and trusted digital interactions among people, machines, and assets based on digital representations of their physical and virtual identities, according to the report published on July 26.

Why is this important?

Gartner Hype Cycles provide a graphic representation of the maturity and adoption of technologies and applications, and how they are potentially relevant to solving real business problems and exploiting new opportunities. Gartner Hype Cycle methodology gives you a view of how a technology or application will evolve over time, providing a sound source of insight to manage its deployment within the context of your specific goals.[2]

Gartner assigned a Benefit Rating of High to the Identity Verification space, noting that it will enjoy mainstream adoption in less than two years.

How does Incode solve identity verification?

Our company vision has always been “One identity, everywhere”, but what does that really mean?

As Gartner analyst Akif Khan notes, “the requirement for high- assurance, remote identity verification has become stronger as rapid digital transformation efforts continue.” At Incode, we pride ourselves on being a leading provider of world-class identity solutions that are reinventing the way humans authenticate and verify their identities online to power a world of digital trust.

However, the process of identity verification is too often repetitive, and frankly, time consuming. Users need to re-verify themselves over and over across all the various platforms they are taking part in, leading to abandonment of verification methods entirely in many cases. Draw from your own experience – isn’t it annoying to constantly prove you are who you say you are?

Our mission is to end that hassle while keeping infrastructure secure.

Khan further hits the nail on the head when he notes businesses require “a high level of assurance in the claimed identity … for fraud prevention or compliance purposes.” Through our world-class machine learning and AI capabilities, we provide an effective system for the identification and authentication of people in a secure and reliable way, with total privacy of personal data and with an accuracy of 99.8%

But what comes after onboarding and authentication?

Another key driver for adoption of identity verification pointed out in the report centers around the “increasing obsolescence of purely data-centric techniques that rely on a user entering personally identifiable information (PII) data.” Our newest offering, Instant Verify powered by Incode ID, unlocks fast onboarding and easy identity sharing through a reusable identity. The goal? Mitigate user fatigue and eliminate the high abandonment rates often associated with many lengthy verification processes. The result is quick and accurate user verification.

Incode is paving the way for organizations to continue their digital transformation journey by providing transformative identity verification. We’re honored to receive the added visibility and market validation that come with being included in a Hype Cycle report.
